The Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) issues PCs to all registered and enrolled nurses and midwives. The PC renewal for Year 2027 begins on 1 September 2026. This renewal process does not apply to nurses and midwives on provisional registration or enrolment, or those undertaking competency assessments. Instructions for these groups will be provided to them and their employers at the appropriate time.
Nurses and midwives who have not practised for a continuous period of five years or more are not eligible to renew their PC. To return to nursing practice, they must complete a Return-to-Nursing programme and then apply for PC renewal. This requirement also applies to those holding a valid PC who have not practised nursing or midwifery for the past five years.
It is the responsibility of each nurse or midwife to apply and pay to renew their PC before it expires on 31 December 2026. All nurses and midwives must log in to their SNB account using Singpass and submit their online PC renewal application for 2027. If you experience any login issues, please email SNB@spb.gov.sg.
Nurses and midwives under the Employer-Pay-On-Behalf (EPOB) scheme must obtain their employer’s confirmation of PC fee payment before applying for PC renewal and must submit their online PC renewal application by 30 September 2026. SNB will verify payment confirmation with employers by end October 2026. If the employer does not confirm payment, SNB will withdraw the nurse or midwife’s PC renewal application (under EPOB) and notify the nurse or midwife by email to submit a new online PC renewal application and pay using credit/debit card.
Nurses and midwives with existing GIRO arrangements with SNB must submit their online PC renewal application by 30 September 2026. The GIRO deduction will take place on 7 October 2026. If the GIRO deduction is unsuccessful, SNB will notify the nurse or midwife by email to pay the PC fee and failed GIRO deduction surcharge via credit/debit card to complete their PC renewal.
Late application/renewal of PC fee will apply if you submit your PC renewal application after 3 December 2026 [Nurses and Midwives Act 1999 Section 18 (4)]. Failure to renew by this deadline will result in a late fee for the Application/ Renewal of Practising Certificate.
