Apply for your Practising Certificate(s) for Year 2026
The Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) issues practising certificates (PCs) to all registered and enrolled nurses and midwives. The PC renewal for Year 2026 begins on 1 September 2025. This renewal process does not apply to nurses and midwives on provisional registration or enrolment as well as those undertaking competency assessments. Instructions for PC renewal will be provided at a later date.
Nurses and midwives who have not practised for a continuous period of five years are not eligible to renew their PC. To return to nursing practice, they must complete a Return-to-Nursing programme. Upon completion of the programme, they must apply for PC renewal before returning to nursing practice. This requirement applies even to those holding a valid PC and have not practised nursing or midwifery for the past five years.
It is the responsibility of the individual nurse or midwife to apply and pay to renew their PC before its expiry on 31 December 2025. All nurses and midwives must log in to their SNB account using their Singpass credentials and submit their online PC renewal application for 2026. If you experience any login issues, please email to SNB@spb.gov.sg.
Nurses and midwives under the Employer-Pay-On-Behalf (EPOB) scheme must obtain employer’s confirmation for the PC fee payment before applying for their PC renewal. After confirmation, they must submit their online PC renewal application by 30 September 2025. SNB will verify payment confirmation with employers by end October 2025. If the employer does not confirm payment, SNB will withdraw the nurse or midwife’s PC renewal application (under EPOB). SNB will notify the nurse or midwife by email to submit a new online PC renewal application and pay his/her PC using alternative payment modes.
Nurses and midwives with existing GIRO arrangements with SNB must submit their online PC renewal application by 30 September 2025. The GIRO deduction will be on 7 October 2025. If GIRO deduction is unsuccessful, SNB will withdraw the nurse or midwife’s PC renewal application (under GIRO). SNB will notify the nurse or midwife by email to pay the failed GIRO deduction surcharge. The surcharge must be paid before the nurse or midwife can submit a new PC renewal application and pay his/her PC using alternative payment modes.
If nurses or midwives on EPOB or GIRO schemes fail to submit their online PC renewal application by 30 September 2025, they will have to submit their online PC renewal application and pay their PC using alternative payment modes.
PC renewal applications submitted after 30 November 2025 will incur a late renewal of PC fee.
Late renewal of PC fee is:
a) | Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse (Psychiatric) | $40 |
b) | Registered Midwife, Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nurse (Psychiatric) | $30 |
c) | Advanced Practice Nurse | $30 |
